The Ablation Workshop serves as an international forum where researchers, government representatives, and industry professionals gather to discuss the latest advancements in ablation and thermal protection systems (TPS). These systems are critical to the success and safety of high-speed aerospace vehicles, including spacecraft reentry systems, hypersonic vehicles, and next-generation launch technologies. These technologies are critical for space exploration and national defense.

Over the course of the workshop, participants will share new experimental insights, present modeling and simulation results, and explore innovative approaches to material development and testing. Beyond technical presentations, the workshop provides valuable opportunities for networking and collaboration, fostering connections that help drive the field forward.

Conference Highlights

  • Meals included: Breakfast and lunch provided daily.
  • Networking dinners: A welcome reception and a special evening dinner hosted by Spaceport America, including an exclusive facility tour.
  • Optional closing-day activities:
    • ITAR-restricted session (U.S. citizens only) with focused technical discussions.

Hosting the workshop further demonstrates NMSU’s growing role as a hub for aerospace and hypersonics research, offering both faculty and students the chance to directly engage with the global research community.

Join us in Las Cruces this November to connect with experts advancing the future of aerospace materials and thermal protection. Registration and program details are available now on the official Ablation Workshop website.
