Title: From Campus to Career: A Roadmap of Decisions and Detours
ABSTRACT: Careers are not linear; they are shaped by opportunities and in-the-moment decisions. In this talk, we trace the choices that carried us from campus to career: what we studied, the projects we pursued, the mentors we sought, and the opportunities we said yes to. Using a roadmap timeline, we will highlight pivotal choices and intentional detours that built expertise, resilience and credibility – unlocking new opportunities. By recapping the decision roadmaps of two NMSU alumni, we will discuss practical ways to evaluate options, align choices with your goals, and navigate an open-ended future with more clarity.
