Marcela Lopez, a graduate student at the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering department, has been awarded a NASA Graduate Research Fellowship through the New Mexico Space Grant Consortium (NMSGC) for the academic year 2022-2023. She is currently perusing her master's degree in the bioinspired and biomimetic robotics (Bio2robotics) lab working on pneumatic artificial muscle-based mechanisms for muscle-driven locomotion of snake robots. NASA Graduate Research Fellowship is competitively awarded based on a research project, its alignment to NASA, faculty letter of recommendation, and GPA.
Congratulations, Marcela!
