Two MAE graduate students, Ahmed Kanaan and Dmytro Kuksenko, received “best presentation” awards at the 29th Rio Grande Symposium on Advanced Materials. Ahmed Kanaan received the award for his poster and Dmytro Kuksenko for his oral presentation. They both competed with students from Sandia, Los Alamos, UNM, and NMT. Well done, Ahmed and Dmytro! Drs. Sevostianov and Drach are the advisors.
Alex Govorov successfully passed his M.S. thesis defense exam. The title of his thesis is, “Electrical Conductivity of Epoxy-Graphene and Epoxy-Carbon Nanofibers Composites.” His research advisor is Dr. Sevostianov.
MAE students Adam Bouma, Adam Ewert, Kyle Klinger, Adrianna Sanders, Brigid Sharer, Michael Randal, and Juan Sanchez served as the ambassadors on the Aggie Experience Day on October 14, 2017. They joined ambassadors from other departments in the College to welcome prospective students and their parents to the campus, talk about the MAE program, and give them a tour of the MAE facilities. Dr. Kota served as the faculty representative.
