MAE Doctoral Student Daniel Wentzel is the Alumni Association Outstanding Graduating Graduate Student
The doctoral level recipient for the Alumni Association Outstanding Graduating Graduate Student is MAE’s Daniel Wentzel. Congratulations, Dr. Wentzel! At NMSU, Daniel worked in the area of micromechanics of materials including fibers and composites under the supervision of Dr. Igor Sevostianov. He is currently a Flight Systems Test Engineer at NASA.

Dr. Ed Conley passed away on June 28, 2018 after prolonged illness. He was with MAE for 30 years and significantly contributed to its teaching, research, and service missions. Dr. Vincent Choo retired this summer, after 33 years of service at NMSU. He graduated with a B.Sc. from Nottingham University, UK and with a Ph.D. from Liverpool University, UK in 1982. MAE Ph.D. student, Samantha Ceballes, has received the 2018 National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program award. Well done, Samantha! She was the Highest Honors Graduate for the College of Engineering at the fall commencement ceremony, completing her study with a 4.0 GPA. Dr. Abdelkefi is her research adviser.
