Dr. Choo retires after 33 years with MAE

Dr. Vincent Choo retired this summer, after 33 years of service at NMSU. He graduated with a B.Sc. from Nottingham University, UK and with a Ph.D. from Liverpool University, UK in 1982. He worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Imperial College, London and as a visiting assistant professor at the University of Washington, Seattle before joining NMSU in 1985. His research centered on composite materials and structures. In the later portion of his 33 years at MAE, he also focused on ‘formative assessment with feedback’ for improving undergraduate education in the department. He served as a PI/Co-PI on many grants and advised Ph.D. and M.S. students. MAE thanks him for his dedicated teaching, research, and service activities over the years. His retirement party was held at St. Clair Winery and Bistro. He will be a part of MAE as an Emeritus professor and continue to pursue research in science and education.
